IYNC Grant Types

IYNC offers five types of grants:

Regional Event Grant

IYNC aims to support the following regional events once every two years (in between IYNC Congresses):
(All figures in US Dollars)

  • Europe (with ENS YGN – up to $5,000)
  • North America (with NAYGN – up to $5,000)
  • South America (up to $5,000)
  • Asia (up to $5,000)
  • Africa (up to $5,000)

IYNC puts its logo on a sponsored regional event. The event is to be advertised as being organized in cooperation with IYNC. President or an IYNC network officer is to speak during the sponsored event if practical.

Application must be completed at least 2 months in advance of the event schedule date. A financial report of the event is required as condition for the grant. This should be submitted maximum 2 weeks after the event. Receipts may be requested. The grants committee strongly encourage writing also a small article for the IYNC bulletin or newsletter after the event to share your initiative.

National Network Start-up Grant

IYNC contribution – up to $3,000

This type of grant supports national network creation initiatives from YG representatives of a country without an active nuclear YG Network (start a new YGN or re-active a “dormient” YGN). Short market research report and business plan for network creation are needed to support the project proposal. Guidelines on preparing a business plan and short market research are available for download.

A project proposal should envisage partnering with one or more existing successful YG networks from other countries to provide mentoring to the start-up. This is to ensure that an advice on the best practices and lessons learned is available to the group creating a new network. At least 80% of the grant should be spent in the country where the new network is being created. Up to 20% can be spent on the partnering network.

Support of the national Nuclear Society or/and other nuclear organizations and/or individual prominent figures in the national nuclear industry is required for this type of the projects, to be highlighted by providing supporting recommendation letters.
Contributions from other sources to the project costs are welcome and increase project’s chances to win an IYNC grant.

Application must be completed at least 2 months in advance of the event schedule date.
