The International Youth Nuclear Congress 2000 was a unique, first-of-its-kind event organized by an international group of young people. Participants in IYNC 2000 included both the new generation of nuclear scientists and engineers, and established professionals in the various fields of nuclear science and technology.

A number of paper and poster presentations, plenary sessions, workshops, and informal discussions comprised the interaction from those who were excited about the future of nuclear science and technology. In parallel to the establishment of the international network, a common message on nuclear issues was distilled out of these days of unique interaction and sent to the outside world in the form of "Y-Notes".
