Congress Information

The International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC 2010) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, 12-18 July 2010.

The venue is the internationally renowned Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC), which is situated at the foot of the famous Table Mountain.

Registration

Registration fees for the Congress:

Young Professionals          €350/380
Full                                   €450/480

The registration fee includes the technical programme, some social and cultural events as well as the technical tour. The fee also includes most coffee breaks, lunches and dinners.

Accommodations

A variety of provisionally booked accommodations are available within walking distance from the CTICC ranging from about R500 (40€) to R4000 (375€) per person per night.

The IYNC 2010 technical programme consists of ten tracks as listed below.

Track 4:        Nuclear Materials, Chemistry and Structural Integrity
Track 5:        Radiation Science and Medical Applications
Track 6:        Fusion Science and Technology
Track 7:        Reactor Safety
Track 8:        Thermal-Hydraulics
Track 9:        Reactor Core Design, Simulation and Modelling
Track 10:      Young Generation Activities

The technical programme will also include several professional development workshops and visits to South Africa’s Koeberg nuclear power plant and several other nuclear research facilities.

In addition to the comprehensive technical programme, a number of voluntary social and cultural events are arranged:

Accessibility

There are direct international flights to Cape Town and Johannesburg international airports as well as domestic connections between Johannesburg and Cape Town leaving almost every hour.
