In this year congress, IYNC will feature 2 new Awards:
YGN award (Juan Alberto Gonzalez Garrido award)
The Juan Alberto Gonzalez Garrido award is being created for the IYNC2016 in Hangzhou, in memoriam of Juan Alberto Gonzalez Garrido, a dedicated and enthusiastic officer, needless to mention one of the funniest and enjoyable members of the IYNC family. Juan Alberto Gonzalez Garrido was among the victims found in the tragic Paris attacks at Le Bataclan on the 13th November 2015. The award is to be given by the IYNC to a National (or continental) Young Generation Network that has given outstanding service to the benefit of the young generation, enjoys a great bottom-up support from its members or offers a big variety of interesting events. Nominations must include the following supporting documents:
- Your last country report
- A small summary of max. 1000 words about what makes your YGN special
- A summary of your last 4 successful events
The award will be presented during the country report presentation session at IYNC2016.
Young Nuclear Professional – Early Career Award
The Outstanding Young Professional Award will recognize a young professional for meritorious service in the interests of civil society and have made a valuable contribution to the nuclear industry. To be eligible, a candidate must be a young professional working in the nuclear environment and being 35 years of age or younger. Anyone (YGN members or not) can submit nominations or recommendations for this award (nomination for someone or auto-nomination). Nominations must include the following supporting documents:
- Curriculum Vitae
- List of publications
- Two letters of recommendation out of which at least one has to be from a senior professional / mentor
The award will be presented during IYNC2016.
